Buildings with asbestos mold?

Well after going into an abandoned building MANY times to hang out, I realized what asbestos mold is, and the building is covered in it ( The basement mostly [ This was an old college] and the basement is quite moist so the mold is damp as well ) I was wondering, If there was a floor between me and the mold, and I’ve been sitting above the rooms for quite a while, have I inhaled a lot of asbestos?

I’m curious because I read up on it and it increases lung diseases etc, so I’m wondering, should I stop going there?

***Yes it does increase your risk for lung disease and other respiratory problems, but it’s not like if you suck it in you’ll definitely get it. It’s like people who have gotten bad sunburn in their lifetime, they have a higher risk of skin cancer but it ends up fine.

Because you hae only went into the building to hang out and not exactly live in it all your life, you don’t have the great of risk. And if there was floor between you and the mold, there is hardly a risk so I wouldn’t worry about it. I wouldn’t spend much time there though as you used to. I know an Elementary school that has asbestos and there is some risk, especially with little kids, but they have it under control with keeping it safe. Some places could get a fine for it if it’s a real hazard and some roofing/siding for houses is illegal and don’t make the material anymore because of asbestos.

So I wouldn’t worry too much about it. The way you described it I don’t really think there is that great of risk, just try to find a new place to chill. Since it is mold, it could always spread from the bottom up to the room your in.***
